What solder and flux is recommended for SMD component soldering?

For SMD soldering we recommend 0.3mm-0.5mm diameter solder wire with Sn63/Pb37 alloy (leaded) for better wettability, or Sn99.3/Cu0.7 (lead-free) if you prefer RoHS compliance. For flux, Amtech NC-559-ASM is the industry standard for BGA reballing and SMD soldering. For general use, a good quality ROL0 or ROL1 paste flux is sufficient.
